This selection of my articles and book chapters gives a sense of various lenses from which I have looked at diverse phenomena of the Global African Diaspora, e.g., African mappings of diasporic spaces, African royalty in the Americas, Diasporan communities in unexpected geographies, meanings encoded in musical phenomena, spiritual similarities in disparate diasporas.

“Reflections on Anthropology and Afrocentrism across the African Diaspora,” was a dynamic discussion about my article, “The Virtues of Positive Ethnocentrism: Some Reflections of an Afrocentric Anthropologist,” published in 1991 in Transforming Anthropology, the journal of the Association of Black Anthropologists. Characterized as “groundbreaking,” it was featured in the 2020 issue in the “Honoring Our Elders” series and complemented by provocative insights from Dr. Jemima Pierre and Dr. Krystal Strong.

“Diáspora africana na formação de professores” foi o tema da atividade realizada pelo NERA (Núcleo de Estudos Étnicos-Raciais), no dia 02 de abril, no Campus Liberdade do Centro Universitário FMU FIAM FAAM. A atividade foi mais uma etapa do projeto “Construindo conhecimento sobre países africanos”, que tem como objetivo ampliar conhecimento acerca dos países africanos e seus desdobramentos na diáspora na América.
